I waited 6 weeks for delivery- it was perfect fit for my counter- within one week it was not working- I had replaced a microwave that was ten years old- I had to go get it back-
I now am waiting for a replacement- let's see what happens!

Perfect size and innovative round back side.. Fits in the corner and saves tons of counter space. plenty of wattage power for most foods.. Nice simple uncluttered control buttons. Costs a bit more but definitely worth it. Hard to find this small size microwave.

Do not buy this! I was so tempted by the size that I ignore the bad reviews. Don't be like me! After the first 6 months, it started to power off after a few minutes of cooking. It would still rotate and light, but no heat. After a couple months of that, it started making a death rattle from the rotating arm at the bottom. It's just a disappointing, somewhat terrifying black box.

I've owned this for three months now. I tucks right into the corner on my countertop. The displayed controls are easy to use and clear to see. The controls are at the bottom of the front. This is so smart because it elevates the actual oven and door. When you open the door and pull out your dish you can set it on the counter in front of the oven and swing the door shut. No need to move it to the side to shut the door. The light stays on while cooking. The inside is wide enough for a full size plate and tall enough for stacking a couple bowls.

I bought this only because it was the only microwave that fit on my counter. It isn't the most attractive thing looking kind of like an object from outer space. And when you open the door the whole microwave moves because it is so light. But it does the trick.

I do not "cook" in my microwave.. I just need a perfectly small tuck-away corner microwave to do popcorn, warm large plates of food, do 'steamers', and other quick small jobs. It's a miracle I found this, since you will not see them in stock anywhere. It is wonderful and everyone who sees it wants it. I have had it two years, and I am thrilled to still see it on Whirlpool's site, because I never want to do without this little gem of a workhorse.

This is my second purchase of this product. I bought the first in 2011. It eventually developed Alzheimers: the turntable would revolve whenever it was plugged in and you had to consciously program & hit "power" to activate any cooking. Strangers were helpless trying to use it, but it was awkwardly functional.
It's a small micrwave, so doesn't have the power of larger countertop or built-in microwaves...no surprise and it gets the job done...just takes a little longer.
We liked the size and utility of the microwave (it's at our lake cabin), so didn't hesitate to purchase again, particularly at this pricepoint. Keeping our fingers crossed.

The sizing fits the area that I needed. It is extremely basic. On and off. The popcorn button doesn't quite work well. However I've experimented enough that I know what to do. It takes longer than a small countertop microwave wood to heat food. If space is not as big of an issue as you might think I would just get a small 0.7 ft.³ microwave. Save your money

Bought this 3 weeks ago and already the control panel "start" button membrane is peeling. The unit is used just to re-heat a few items each day and there's only 2 adults in our household so the unit is not over-used or abused in any way. Is there a coating that should be peeled off? If there is, hope WP can let me know. Couldn't find info regarding this in the manual and didn't want to peel off a protective coating if there isn't.

I bought this a few weeks ago to fit into a tiny kitchen.
LIKE: Compact footprint; sleek look; door swings above items on the counter; fits (very snugly) a full dinner plate.
DISLIKE: Little vertical space. Non-heating timer function seems pointless. Most importantly, whose idea was it to skip a 1-min button? I considered returning the microwave because of the tedious time-setting. There's a 30-second button (automatically starts heating), and a +/- that starts at 5-second intervals (set, then press start). So if you want to set the microwave for 6 minutes, you can press +30 twelve times, and remember to stop when you see the clock at 5:50-ish.
Or hold "+" and listen to it beep loudly 34 times. Seriously, it takes 20 beeps just to get to 1 min. It begins racing after a while and you inevitably pass up your desired time, so add a few more beeps from pressing "-". You can't turn off or lower the beeps. Also, mine has begun humming/vibrating loudly at the start of each cycle. Only buy this microwave if you really need a compact unit and care about the aesthetics.

Let me preface this review by saying that my wife and I loved this microwave up until this morning. The form factor is awesome and unlike any other microwave on the market; it fits in the corner of our kitchen counter beautifully. It heats food up fairly quickly. The add 30 second feature is great. Everyone who comes over always asks what it is exactly because of its unique design, and we love the uniqueness of the unit.
This unit is now creating sparks. These sparks caused the thin piece of cardboard on the left-hand inside of the unit to catch fire and begin smoking. Luckily we quickly realized what was happening. We powered down and disconnected the unit.
This unit was purchased in April 2014. I also purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher, refrigerator, and stove (all electric) for my first home also in April 2014.
As of now the microwave cannot be used for the safety reasons, and our house is microwave-less. I did not expect end-of-life for this microwave to be a little over 4 years after purchasing the unit. Perhaps quality was not built-into this unit? Perhaps there is a recall for this unit?
I have pictures showing the nameplate of the unit. I could send Whirlpool a video of the unit's behavior so Whirlpool's product engineering team can review. Whirlpool, please let me know how to proceed.

When I purchased mine initially, I had read poor reviews about the door latch receivers failing on these units, but I bought one anyway since I was able to get a cheap squaretrade warranty. Sure enough, after a couple years, and very seldom use, the door won't close anymore, rendering the unit useless.

I bought this microwave in 2011 and it still works, for that, I am grateful. But the lightbulb went out shortly after I bought it. The users manual shows the "location" of the lightbulb. No mention of a replacement bulb part number or how one might go about installing it. Online help says if no light, replace the lightbulb. There is no access to it other than removing the housing with a special screwdriver that most people do not have in their home. My next microwave will be one that doesn't require an appliance dealer to replace the bulb. Yes, I recommend this microwave to a friend who doesn't mind cooking in the dark.

My wife didn't like that the previous Kenmore Microwave took up so much of the counter top. This new Whirlpool saves space, but at the sacrifice of function. They key pad normally on a microwave is gone. You have to use the up and down arrows to set the timer or the clock, etc. Had i realized the inconvenience I probably wouldn't have bought this model.
