The name includes "cool touch" kettle. I received the kettle and tried it, IT IS NOT COOL TO TOUCH. the kettle is HOT but not scorching hot to touch. Still a little bit off to how GE promotes this product. I also noticed after cleaning it and discarding water 4X, I can still smell the "plastic" odor. After using it for 2 days, a mild plastic odor still persists.

Exactly what I have been looking for, a simple, basic, stainless-steel kettle to be used by an elderly person. The minimum amount of water to boil is 2 cups and the maximum is 6 cups. The exterior of the kettle is comfortably warm to touch after it comes to a full boil. There is one on-off switch that automatically turns off when the kettle has reached the boiling temperature.
The interior of the kettle is slightly discolored after the first boil, but my ordinary fifteen-year-old stainless-steel kettle that I use on the cook top is also discolored inside from use - and who looks inside their stove top tea kettle?
I would only be dissatisfied if the electric kettle rusted. The discoloration inside the kettle from minerals in tap water doesn't concern me. I am so far very pleased and would recommend this kettle to someone who wants a basic, easy to pour kettle that brings water to a vigorous boil.

After going from a basic kettle to a digital one that broke after a year (neither GE), I decided to go back to a more basic kettle. This one does exactly what it's supposed to do - boil's water quickly and with minimal fuss. The lid isn't the most awesome design, but it's functional and doesn't cause me issues.

Kettle review.
Water heats up within 2 mins at minimum water line and a little over 5 minutes at max water line. While heating, the steam comes from the top of the kettle so you have to make sure it's not under a cabinet or shelf.

What's not to love? This kettle is simple to use and has a very classic look. it kind of reminds me of my mom's old percolator coffee pot... except this one stays cool so if you bump it, it's not going to hurt. I've been using it in my home office. It's great not having to run downstairs to the kitchen every time I want some tea.

This kettle works very well. The water heated very quickly and yes, the outside is cool to the touch! This is a very simple unit. There is just one switch to turn it on. You fill the kettle, pop it in the base and plugs it in. There's a little light that comes on and you can hear the water heating up. When it's ready, the light goes off. That's it! I gave 4 stars because I wish the base was sturdier since it is plastic. Everything worked perfectly and I really just wanted a very easy operation. Happily, that is what I got with this!

I love this GE Cool Touch Kettle with Manual Control for work. I am a big tea drinker and this is a great way for me to have hot tea at my desk. This kettle is very easy to operate. This cool touch kettle works perfect for keeping water hot so I can brew my tea right when I want it. I like that the outside stays cool so if little fingers get too close they don't get burnt. The temperature control is a bonus.

I've been using my GE® Cool Touch Kettle for several weeks and I love it. It quickly boil water for making tea and is easy to use. Put water in, hold button down and wait until light goes off. I also use it for Ramen noodles cups.

The GE Cool Touch Kettle with Manual Control is a must-have small appliance for any home or even a work setting! It heats water with just the simple push of a button in 5-7 minutes and switches off automatically when the water starts boiling. The kettle may shake slightly due to this fact, but the outside surface only feels somewhat warm, cool enough to touch without a burn risk. It basically has a similar feel to the warmth of a ceramic mug that contains a heated liquid. The water stays hot for at least an hour and may possibly maintain its temperature longer after heating, but it's so quick and easy to reheat if necessary. There are handy MAX and MIN lines inside the kettle, along with a push-button lid, all of which I consider to be beneficial safety features. I particularly like the sleek design and appreciate the separate base instead of the cord and plug being directly on the kettle itself. I've been using this product almost daily, anytime I want to rapidly heat water for tea, oatmeal, and more! There is also an electric model with a control panel for setting the desired temperature of your choice, but I am completely satisfied with this model. A quality product from a trusted brand. I used this at work this week and its nice for hot water for tea,hot chocolate etc... Looks great in my office.Its nice for in the home as well and you don't have to worry about anyone getting burned by accidently touching the outside of the pot.

This looks so good in my kitchen. I love how quickly this boils water. The outside of this machine doesn't get hot. I have the manual version- you just press down the tab- the white light comes on and you wait. Super easy! This has a wide lipped spout that doesn't splash. I love using this for my tea in the morning, ramen, and hot cocoa.

Easy to use and a great size. Will hold about 2 bottles of water (16oz). I really love how easy it is to use and how fast it is to heat up! Its probably only takes 5 minutes or so to heat up and keeps your water warm after you use what you want from the original pot.

I am so in love with this GE Cool Touch kettle.. It saves me so time from boiling water on the stove. I use it for tea, coffee, instant oatmeal, and Ramen Noodles. This is a great tea kettle. Fill with water place on base, plug in, push the button and with in a minute or so, you have piping hot water for hot chocolate, tea or ramen noodles. It is so easy! Stores nicely too since it is slender. Cleans easily with a quick rinse and a wipe down.

I never thought I needed an electric kettle, but apparently I did. I make a lot of ice tea with tea bags on the stove in a pot. I used this kettle and it was so much easier, and safer. I often spill the hot water/tea on the counter or me. This pot made it a safe, easy, and now a comfortable job.

With winter coming, I am switching over from iced tea to hot tea. This electric kettle is awesome. I no longer have to keep turning on my stove to reheat the water in my stove top tea kettle. It's nice looking, brush stainless steel, is durable and substantial, and cleans up easily. It will be a nice addition for any party once covid goes away.

I know alot of people may think, why, isn't this out dated, with kcup brewers which we have and other devices, this throwback kettle is not needed. I want to say that is not true. Wife is always saying she would drink more tea if she had a better way to heat the water. well with this she does. put the water in, touch the bottun and it heats up while keeping the outside cool to the touch and now i can not keep enough tea bags on our shelf.

Was a little skeptical about how quickly the kettle would heat water for tea, was I pleasantly surprised. It took 2 minutes at the most and voila! Hot water for soup, tea, oatmeal, whatever you need hot water for. Plus, the kettle stays cool, just as promised.

Stainless steel exterior so no fingerprints or water spots to wipe off. Easy to see the minimum and maximum water lines inside the kettle. It takes the kettle about 3.33 minutes for boiling water. There is a wide spout for pouring the water into
your container and a sturdy handle. It is a good basic electric tea kettle. I felt the heating base could have been a little bigger
for the tall kettle.

I recently got the GE Cool Touch Kettle with Manual Control because I use alot of instant coffee and also love hot teas and cocoa. This thing is awesome! I don't have to babysit it so that I can take it off the stove burner when it gets hot AND I don't have to worry about it going dry with the automatic shut off! It's great!! Would definitely recommend.

This GE Electric Kettle is a great addition to my kitchen. The brushed stainless finish gives it a modern simple look. It's well constructed with several convenient safety features. The exterior stays cool to the touch. The cord wraps under the base to reduce excess cords on the counter top. The cover stays secure with the push button latch. The base swivels making it convenient for pouring whether you are right or left handed. The spout has a built in strainer to strain larger pieces, like fruit from splashing into hot liquid. It automatically shuts off when the pot is dry.
This Electric Kettle heats up quickly saving time, when you have multiple items where you need hot liquid. You can make a large variety of hot drinks or instant oatmeal to satisfy whatever others prefer. The pot keeps the water hot for approximately 2 hours. I love the GE cool touch kettle with manual control. It works perfectly for busy mornings, or anytime of day. You just fill it and plug it in. I get my morning routine done and come back to nice hot water. I never have to worry about anybody burning themselves, because of the great cool touch feature.
